Excited to see this for the first time. Can’t wait to see them on the road

This car is stunning!! Absolutely love it.

Kinja'd!!!

The 5th or 6th one I’ve seen but still gorgeous.

Everyone here probably has their list of holy grail cars they want to see before they die, sort of like a bucket list. On top of my list is the Mclaren F1. A car I never thought I would see unless I went to Monterey Car Week or an automotive museum like Petersen. Well today I did the latter by attending the Japanese Cruise-in and then paying to enter the museum.

Going to the Petersen has been on my list for a long time now, especially since I live in LA, so I took advantage of the chance to see some really cool Japanese cars and amazingly beautiful vehicles that put a smile on my face.

The top 3 car I wish to see before I die are the Mclaren F1, Toyota 2000GT and Lamborghini Miura. These three cars are to me the pinnacle of automotive beauty and performance. I could literally stare at these cars for hours maybe even days and still be amazed.

Living in LA has given me the opportunity to see all kinds of cars simply by going to a car show or driving down the right street at the right time. I’ve seen everything from a Mclaren P1 GTR to nicely tuned FR-Ses. I see nice cars while I’m driving around running errands, going to class and pretty much everywhere else. I know it can be easy to be jaded by all of this but somehow I’m not, at least not yet...

So even though seeing cars at a museum is different than turning your head when you see one on the road, just the experience of see it in real life not just in pictures is mind-blowing. Today I saw two of the three cars on my list and I can’t stop smiling when I think about that F1. But that’s it, being a car enthusiast to me is not just about driving the coolest car made today but to appreciate the cars that got us here. I live for cars, they are one of the few things on earth that make me happy unconditionally.

Enjoy the photos from the museum taken with my phone. (yes, no fancy cameras here)

I have seen 2 McLarens (excluding the F1 cars at F1 races). My first was an F1 in Paris on the champs-élysées. The guy had unloaded it from a trailer to show of. He even allowed a few people to get in and rev the throttle. Unfortunately by the time I got to the front of the crowd he was saying Non to such requests.

The second was an MP4-12C that a saw about 6 months ago just outside work. At least I am pretty certain it was an MP4, I know it was a McLaren, because I could not believe my eyes so I wanted to take a close look at the badge as it passed me to confirm what I knew it was. Sure enough it had the trademark McLaren red swoosh. My first thought was it may have been a P1 but when I looked up the McLaren cars I decided it looked more like the MP4

I just wish I had been less concerned about confirming it was a McLaren an more concerned about taking in the beauty of the machine before me.

I would love to ride (or drive!!!) an F1. I’m not a supercar buff or fan really, but I can’t get the sound out of my mind.

Aww that sucks. At least the guy was cool enough to let some people check it out. Mclarens are starting to be more common now but they are still very intriguing to look at. I generally will stare at something for a while before I decide I want to take a picture. I like to believe it's more about living in the moment than getting a picture to stare at.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not only about supercars. I like a little bit of everything but with supercars there's something special about it that you don't get to see and experience a lot of.

Interesting cars in the background if you are at a Toyota museum. Why can’t Toyota build something this beautiful today?

I recall seeing a Miura once but it was pretty far away and somewhat hidden behind other cars. Dying to see one close up!! I'm sure it's as good as everyone says it is.

Thanks! You definitely need to go. Plus you literally can't miss it. I mean have you seen the exterior of this building.

DeLorean, first GT-R, ‘67 Alfa, ‘59 Caddy convertible, ancient Datsun pickup - look back in my timeline for photos.

I saw an even better F1 a little while back, and the Huayra, and the Singer 911 behind the Huayra. I never knew a Huayra could be upstaged.

I still remember the time I saw an Enzo for the first time.

Kinja'd!!!

The Enzo has always been the Ferrari of all Ferraris for me. Altho I prefer the Enzo stock, seeing an 860hp Edo Competition tuned Enzo up close(up close as in I got to sit in it) was something else. And to top it all of I got to watch it do some 300+km/h speed runs the next day.

Edit: I should also mention this is the same Enzo that ended up in the Atlantic ocean during the Newfoundland targa rally.

The owner drives it often and drives it hard!

Here’s one I forgot - at work, glanced out the window (W. 30th Street) and saw an F40 on a flatbed, uncovered, trundling up the street. Talk about a unicorn ....

That's so cool. Hooray for the owner! The car is not a garage queen.

In LA there are a few Huayras around here. Have seen one of them so far. Nice but not really my style. Would like to see a singer though I’m not sure if I’ll realize that it is a singer.
